20 common PHRASAL VERBS that are EASY to learn!
Переглядів 29 тис.21 день тому
One of the most common questions I receive from English learners is “Why are phrasal verbs like ‘sit down’ necessary?” The answer is that they are an accepted part of English, especially in speaking. Yes, it might sound redundant to say “sit down,” “stand up,” “fall down,” and “continue on” instead of simply saying “sit,” “stand,” “fall,” and “continue,” but phrasal verbs like these add emphasi...

    The short answer is that English has changed, since the rules were set up and words were dictionarified. Basically, the words have changed, the usage has changed and the rules have changed.

I know you are an immigrant and that is why you know how difficult it can be. In my case I lived in Venezuela and due to the political and economic situation I had to emigrate to Colombia, and life is very difficult. Thank you for this video that motivates me to keep trying. Hello, thanks for this video. My husband and I are retired so we have enough money to live on. If we wanted to change our place of residence and emigrate to Canada, it would be possible or rather impossible. If it were possible, it would be simpler or more complicated than in the situations mentioned in the video. 🙋🙂

      Thanks for your comment! It really depends on your particular situation. If you have family in Canada already, that may be an option for you. If you are retired you may not be eligible for streams under the Express Entry programs, but I would suggest visiting the IRCC link in the description to see if you believe you meet any of the eligibility and if you have further questions please reach out!

    If you are the son or the daughter of Jeff Bezos is it the same way or you can get a visa more easely ? Is it the same for french people if they want to come and work in Montreal or Quebec for example ? I remember in 2008 something like that, I asked for a working holiday visa for the Canada. I am from France, it was easy to get it because the number available was high compared with the level of people asking for. Today that will be very difficult because a lot of people try to get those kind of visa. I did not take the visa in 2008, I moved in Uk and worked 4 years there. It was a really good experience and my level of english is far more better than it was at school.

      French speakers will have a language advantage in Quebec, including having access to a wider variety of jobs in the province, but immigration approvals are granted at the federal, not the provincial level. Based on my understanding, there are some provincial programs which allow Quebec to select potential immigration candidates, but the approval must still come from the federal offices. Here is an example: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/quebec-skilled-workers.html

    Is it still worth it immigrating to Canada, considering the increase in criminality and cost of living crisis?

    • @engvidAlex
      @engvidAlex 4 дні тому

      It's a tough decision that everyone has to make for themselves. Because it's such a massive country, there are plenty of safe areas to live in despite the overall increase in crime stats. The cost of living is a major issue affecting many nations at the moment, and Canada isn't immune to it. Housing in particular is unaffordable or very expensive for many people, and it's something a potential immigrant has to research and think about carefully, as with any major life decision. This would be a good question to explore in a future video, as this video is strictly concerned with the application process, not with the economic and cultural conditions of Canada. I hope I've been able to answer your question satisfactorily.
